O MINISTÉRIO PASTORAL NA SOCIEDADE PÓS-MODERNA: UM ESTUDO SOBRE AS OPORTUNIDADES E OS DESAFIOS DA SOCIEDADE PÓS-MODERNA PARA A PRÁTICA DO MINISTÉRIO PASTORAL

Resumo

Este artigo foi elaborado com o objetivo de descrever de que maneira o ministério pastoral cristão pode ser exercido de forma relevante e significativa no contexto social da pós-modernidade. Por essa razão, foram feitas análises acerca das principais características e elementos do pós-modernismo, bem como avaliações sobre as dificuldades e as oportunidades que essa configuração social representa e oferece para a prática do ministério pastoral. Para o desenvolvimento do conteúdo deste trabalho, obras de sociologia, filosofia e teologia foram consultadas, com um destaque especial aos livros de Zygmunt Bauman e de Timothy Keller. Quanto às considerações finais, neste artigo é demonstrado que os elementos característicos da pós-modernidade representam, simultaneamente, dificuldades e oportunidades para o exercício do ministério pastoral. Dessa forma, chegou-se à conclusão de que os indivíduos envolvidos com o trabalho pastoral precisam associar a sensibilidade cultural à fidelidade bíblica, usando as crises pós-modernas referentes à ausência de sentido, à falta de uma moralidade sólida e à fragmentação dos relacionamentos interpessoais como oportunidades para a pregação das verdades bíblicas do evangelho como a única solução possível para as angústias existenciais do ser humano.

Pastoral ministry in postmodern society: a study of the opportunities and challenges of the postmodern society for the practice of pastoral ministry

Abstract: This article was written with the aim of describing how Christian pastoral ministry can be exercised in a relevant and meaningful way within the context of postmodernity. For this reason, analyses about the main characteristics of postmodernism were made, as well as evaluations of the difficulties and opportunities that this social configuration represents and offers for the practice of pastoral ministry. In order to develop the content of this article, works of sociology, philosophy and theology were consulted, with special emphasis on the books by Zygmunt Bauman and Timothy Keller. As for the final considerations, it is shown in this article that the characteristic elements of postmodernity represent both difficulties and opportunities for the exercise of pastoral ministry. In this way, it was led to the conclusion that individuals involved in pastoral work need to associate cultural sensitivity with biblical fidelity, using the postmodern crises of meaninglessness, the lack of solid morality and the fragmentation of interpersonal relationships as opportunities to preach the biblical truths of the gospel as the only possible solution to the existential anguish of human beings.
