DEUS DE TODAS AS NAÇÕES: UMA ANÁLISE DO UNIVERSALISMO NOS LIVROS PROFÉTICOS

Resumo

Esse artigo explora como a literatura profética do Antigo Testamento apresenta um Deus cujo governo transcende as fronteiras de Israel. Contrariando uma visão puramente nacionalista de Israel, esses profetas revelam a soberania universal de Deus sobre toda a criação e história. Essa abrangência é demonstrada pelo juízo de Deus sobre todas as nações. Além disso, os profetas incluem Israel no juízo divino pelos mesmos princípios aplicados às outras nações, subvertendo a falsa segurança nacionalista. Eles mostram que Deus controla a história e usa nações como instrumentos. Finalmente, esse estudo destaca a esperança futura de salvação e inclusão universal. A eleição de Israel é vista não como um fim em si, mas como um meio para que o propósito redentor de Deus alcance o mundo inteiro, reunindo um povo de todas as nações que O adorará. O universalismo profético se fundamenta na natureza intrínseca de Deus.

God of all nations: an analysis of universalism in the prophetic books

Abstract: This article explores how the Old Testament prophetic literature presents a God whose rule transcends the borders of Israel. Countering a purely nationalistic view of Israel, these prophets reveal God's universal sovereignty over all creation and history. This comprehensive scope is demonstrated by God's judgment upon all nations. Furthermore, the prophets include Israel in the divine judgment based on the same principles applied to other nations, subverting false nationalistic security. They show that God controls history and uses nations as instruments. Finally, this study highlights the future hope of salvation and universal inclusion. Israel's election is seen not as an end in itself, but as a means for God's redemptive purpose to reach the entire world, gathering a people from all nations who will worship Him. Prophetic universalism is grounded in God's intrinsic nature.
